The "Tip of the Day" series on "Practice" is incredibly valuable information.
Personally "Practice Tips - Part 5, What" is very valuable to me. I have spent years practicing David's materials without spending the 20 minutes a day on "Applying the licks to a jam track (Chorus Forms)".
If you're just starting with the harp don't make this mistake.
Learning to play songs perfectly without the ability to freely jam is like being in a prison of sorts. I'm vowing to breakout this year.
Thanks to David for this great Tip of the Day series on "Practice"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Gang,

I thought it would be a good idea for us harmonica players to help each other out and this will also give us the drive to better ourselves. continue reading...
Practicing Tongue Agility Ex: 1.1 -- 4+ n 1 + & 5+ n 2+ I am getting that Sweet sound [ almost at will when I want to play it ( Fox Chase ) sound not really sure if it's the right sound. But it sounds good. I think I get an Octave .The sound that comes out stills sound good. Go figure. I would like to know the right sound. So I can play it right.
I can't believe this. After years of noise in our house. To put this in perspective, you have to understand - this is a musical household. We have many guitars, keyboards, amps, brass and woodwind instruments. My older son and daughter both play. My daughter recently started her own band. My five-year-old has a big mouth and can cause a ruckus all his own without an instrument. We have had many musicians over the years jamming at the house. Heck, when I met my wife I was a traveling musician for pete's sake! continue reading...
Well, I'm closing the laptop and heading out of my hotel room to freeze my butt off on Times Square tonight (I can't believe my wife talked me into this again).
Everyone have a very happy New Year! I can't wait to see everyone's progress (including my own) in 2011!
As a New Year gift - if I see Ryan Seacrest tonight, I'll punch him for you. (come on, you know you want me to)
I have always wounder .How do you play the tiny mini harp ( The Little Lady ) I don't think they have that here. That woud be great to know. Most Fascinationg : )
Great interview with Jimi Lee, David. I first met him at SPAH in Sacramento where he totally impressed me with his playing and even more so with his "joy" that he mentions at the end of the interview. He is one happy dude that makes it so obvious that he loves making music on his own and with others. The jam circles he ran in the hallways were so much fun because of his enthusiasm. Thanks for another winner!!
I am practicing Tongue Agility ( Tongue Switching ) 1.1 as I switch to 4+ to 1 some how I almost get the 4+
1+ octave I hear it . It's just starting to sound .But than I loose it . Almost got it by chance and a little trying ( Mostly by Chance ).. Any advice?

Hi everybody,
I'm DJing the first hour after midnight at our New Year's Eve blues dance. After Auld Lang Syne, what should be the first song of the new year? Our blues dance community dances to fairly slow blues (60 to 120 bpm, give or take). Anybody have any thoughts on what song should kick off the new year?
Happy new year to all. I hope you enjoy peace and gratitude for the rest of the holidays and throughout the year.
Anne Marie
P.S. Or, for that matter, know a cool, bluesy version of old lang syne?
(I put up what I came up with in the the Music to listen to section.)
Merry Xmas & Happy Anniversary to Blues Harmonica .com & all the blues harpers out there all over the world. Merry Xmas to David & thanks to all the people involved in running this amazing website.
