Lately I've been working on my accompaniment playing. 'Cuz of this, I've also been trying to sing. I have to say I've been having a hard time. I used to sing in an indie rock band (singing my own tunes and lyrics) and did ok. Now that I haven't sung in quite a while and I am singing blues, I've been having a real hard time sounding anything close to good? Does anyone have any tips or know of any books or videos that might help out? Or should I just practice singing to blues albums?
Thanks!
Im going into the recording studio with the band in April and I was wondering if anybody had any tips when it comes to recording harmonica in both an acoustic and or electric enviroment?
Having a hard time practicing now. Corn Beef and Cabbage is cutting in on my practice time. " O " well what can you do ? Gotta have the C.B.A. C : ) just thought of this try that note combo go figure Happy Sait Paddys Day : )
Because I don't have the cd (just heard it on radio), I was wondering if anyone has taken the time to come up with the position (or positions) and key that Adam is using. If you haven't heard it, try to - gotta love what he does and the attitude he has.
I made a decision to purchase a MacBook Pro instead of an IPad because I cannot view the videos from BluesHarmonica on my IPhone and (from what I heard) the IPad.SInce then I have downloaded VLC to view other video formats but it still doesn't give me viewing access to the videos on this site. I really want to have this access on the road. The MacBook is working just fine but......
Is there an app that will give me that ability? What format is being used that the Apple guys don't want us to have access to? Has anyone found any work around? continue reading...
I am using this program to practice and record.
Is it possible to loop only certain sections of a song?
For example, I am working on FEELIN FOR THE BLUES and have imported the jam track into Audacity.
I am working on Chorus #1-4. Is it possible to loop just those Choruses?
Thank you in advance for anyone who may be able to assist.
I just wanted to point out the Gary Smith segment with Dave on this subject of masking the harp.
I've been told this idea before when playing with backing tracks, stay on just 2 hole till you sound musical then add a hole etc. I got to say I have a whole new veiw of this skill after watching these 2 guy's demonstrate how it's done.
These lessons 1-7(?) are gold! I will return and listen to these much like the soloing video for a long time and incorporate this into my practice. After years of trying to learn and teach myself things you know when you hit pay dirt. continue reading...
