hi, does anyone know the words for Walter Horton's Have a Good Time? there arent many but i cant hear them all. i am pretty sure the words on the lyric sites are not correct.

Fish like Peter,Pray like Paul,Dumb as they come,That's all, that's all

Spend my money, upon my clothes, I never have to worry,'cause my hair just rolls.

i am pretty sure that first one should be:
Preach like Peter, Pray like Paul, When judgement day comes thats all thats all

but i cant quite figure the second part

sounds like
spend my money upon my clothes, i never have to worry cause i have (something)my mate thinks its "cause i have the road"

at first i thought it was "spent my money, pawned my clothes, i never have to wear em cause i have nude roles" ...i might sing it that way though if i cant work it out...if i use the harp mic maybe it will be as difficult to understand as the recording i am listening to...maybe i'll seek another recording

thanks for reading,
cheers,
Dave

Listen to this version

Listen to this one!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I5XQGd5l7Y

He sings the verses twice, and there's another verse at the beginning.

I'm sure he's saying "Pawn my clothes"

"I never have to worry because ....." I'm working on that one...sounds different to me on the two repititions.
I almost think he's saying something about "my hair" like Hank says.
"Cause my hair's a little rose"? the first time,
or "cause I has ... rolls?" the second time. Hmm......

I bet David Barrett's ear could discern the words!

gets more difficult all the time

but thanks for playing fellers!

theres something about liquor...seems a common 1st verse but omitted from the 'with Carey Bell' version

something like: get that liquor, come on (home, over, the road)
dont need nothing but(????) to have a good time

couldbe forget that liquor?

a verse i heard on a non-walter version: i got some money today, tomorrow who knows, i dont care where my money goes

spend my money 'pon my clothes, i never have to worry cause i have my little rose? doesnt mean much to me but could make sense if i knew who little rose is.

the only one i am pretty clear on is: you can preach like peter, pray like paul, but when judgement day comes thats all thats all
