Hi Greg,

I have an Astatic Biscuit mic, which is missing the little set screw that holds the grill in place.  Do you know what size screw that is and/or where I can get one?

Thanks,

Greg

I'm interested in getting an anti-feedback pedal. What is the difference between these two and which one is better?

What happens to the crystal element if I dropped my mic?

Hi Mr. Heumann-

I am farily new to playing amplified using microphones with crystal element inside.. so this might be a dumb question... A lot of people say that the crystal elements are fragile, sometimes one drop can kill the element. So what would happen if I dropped my crystal mic on the floor, will it not sound at all afterwards or will it just give a weaker output?

Thanks!

Kalamazoo II

Hi Greg, I purchased a Kalamazoo a few months ago, and it sounds great, no hums and everything on it works as it should. But I read your other article on the brown filter cap, that will need to be replaced. So I thought I would check mine, and it has the old brown paper cap with the wires coming out. My question is, the red wire that is coming out of the filter is not connected to anything. Is it suppose to be connected to something, or is that correct. Also do you have a part number, brand of filter cap you recommend. Thanks in advance.

EV 920 Spherex

Greg,

I have an ElectroVoice EV 920 Spherex mic.  It sounds great.  Looks cool too.  I'd like to put the element in a JT-30 shell because that's what I'm comfortable holding.  But I'm not sure how to get the element out without destroying the EV grill.  Any tips?

Thanks,

Steve

520D loss of volume

Hi

I am after a little expert opinion (help!).

I have a 520D with original cable, recently I have seen a drop in outut volume compared to an old blues blaster. (These used to be comparible in output.)

Could this be a cable related problem, or something a little more serious.

I had intended to remove the old cable and replace with a switchcraft connector, as the grounding is a little suspect.

I am new to all this so any input greatly received.

Regards

Alex
