Getting off toptic a bit as this is not a mic question but I know you are the Zoo guy. Looking at a brown faced Kalamazoo model 1 soon. Apparently been recapped and 3 prong added. Appears otherwise original, "mid 60's". I haven't seen or heard the brown faced in action. Essentially the same animal? Any info is appreciated
New to performing on stage and starting to think about mic options. Is it common practice to plug a harmonica mic into a distortion pedal like an electric guitar?
I have tried, without success, to get an answer on how the cables for a Harp Blaster are wired. Honer has no official wiring diagram in the manual. Most posts online suggest it's the same wiring as the Blues Blaster, but some explicitly warn it's NOT the same as the Blues Blaster.
I found some links to cables that supposedly work, but wanted to make my own from some old ones I have. Has anyone first hand knowledge if it's pin 2 or 3 that is hot?
Hi Greg, I would like to try to solder a shure element in an empty shell by myself. Never done it before. Is it complicated? Can you give some good advice to avoid beginner errors? Thank you for your help.
I will be at SPAH once again this August 13-17 in Tulsa. Are you going to SPAH? DO you know what SPAH is? You can learn more at http://spah.org - but I can tell you if there's one harmonica experience you want on your bucket list, this is the one. Hundreds of the best harp players in the world converge for seminars, performances, cameraderie and shenanigans. It's like there are harmonica pheromones in the air! It is a HOOT!
If you come you'll find me in the Vendor Area. I hope you'll come by and say hi! continue reading...
In order to record myself I am planning to use an H4NPro recorder from Zoom and my bulletini. Zoom states that the impedance of the jack input is 470k Ohms.
I did’nt find information about the Bulletini impedance (other than ’high’). Can I expect a good recording with this setting ?
For general recording I use an XLR to USB cable into my laptop for the above mic. My problem is impedence so, the volume is very low. The question is, is there a cheap way of converting this to increase the volume, like a cheap preamp?
For reference I do also have a Moukey mic with USB but the sound from that is nowhere near as good as the SM58.
Is it possible and or worth the investment and effort to modify a shure 520 dx green bullet to a vintage cr/cm element, along with screw cable connector?
