Hey Greg a friend of mine gave me a wireless sm58 without the receiver and I'm in the process of taking it apart and modding it for use with harmonica( transformer swap and xlr connection). But once I got it all taken apart I notice the lack of a transformer I was hoping you could give me some tips or info about this. Did the wireless models not have transformers (obviously right it has no cable) . Thanks Greg ..
Yeah, cold isn’t great for gear. It isn’t so much the cold itself, its the warming up! What happens is that as soon as it warms up, each time, condensation can form. You see this all the time on the chrome in your shower. If, each time it forms, the condensation fully evaporates because it got nicely warm for a long period of time - no big deal. But if you go to the store, it warms up enough for condensation to form, then you come home - it stays there. Moisture isn't good for gear! If it gets cold enough and that stuff freezes it can really do some damage. continue reading...

Hi I wanna know how to install a Switchcraft 2501 MP in to a mic shell. The first part I think i can do, but the soldering part I have no clue?! Is there any instructions on how to do this on the webb? Or a book with pictures on how to solder a Switchcraft 2501 MP?

Hi Greg,
With the recent passing of legendary chromatic harmonica player Toots Thieleman, his music has been playing in my head lately. I also learned from Winslow that Toots was asthmatic.
The comfortable grip of the Shure SM58 aside, the close proximity (fatter sound) feature of this microphone would definetly have benefited Toots with his soft (and fast jazz runs) type of playing. How long did Toots perform with your SM58 Ultra? I'm betting he loved the light weight attribute of your mic. Can you write to us about any of your Toots Thieleman experiences?
Hi Greg, sorry my question is not about Mic but speakers. i think you are familiar with this issue.

You know, plenty of these mics(TURNER PLUS 3 B) are available in market, i recently tested one of these i a store(but not by harp and amp only with a stereo and my voice).
do you recommend to buy one of these mics and using the element inside of in another mic?
some spesifications of turner mic acording to its catalogue:
I just purchased a Bulletini thru RockinRonsMusic & love how it sounds with my Fender Silver Faced Champ.
My question is in relation to the following statement in your add,
'"So far it makes every small amp it has been tested with, including Kalamazoo, Memphis Mini and the Harp Train 10 sound better than anything else I know."
Does this mean that you would recommend one of your larger shelled mics when playing thru a large amp like say a Bassman? continue reading...
