Hi Greg,

You know, plenty of these mics(TURNER PLUS 3 B) are available in market, i recently tested one of these i a store(but not by harp and amp only with a stereo and my voice).

do you recommend to buy one of these mics and using the element inside of in another mic?

some spesifications of turner mic acording to its catalogue:

Element: Ceramic

sensitivity: -23db

output Imp:5,000 ohms

frequancy response: 300 - 3500 hz

thanks, Ebi

Hello, EbrahimI am not

Hello, Ebrahim

I am not actually very failiar with the Turner +3. I nokw that the mic as delivered form Turner had a built in pre-amp at the base section, so I'm not sure how strong the element is without it. I can tell you that in general, most people who know elements (including me) don't feel Turner elements quite stack up to vintag Shure, Astatic and Brush elements.

Microphone specs don't actually mean too much for harp players, but the 3500hz rolloff is quite low, which should make it fairly "warm" sounding and not harsh. However 300hz is a little high to get good bass response.

The only way to know whether YOU like it is to try it!
