I'm interested in getting an anti-feedback pedal. What is the difference between these two and which one is better?

Some info

Hi Taylor - i hesitate to comment because I am just a jam player but I have had the Kinder and now have the Squeal killer. Two different machines that for my use did the job but with some differences.

The Kinder had adjustments (knobs/dials) that were pretty much a mystery to my simple mind and were supposed to be adjusted depending on the mic being used. It definitely worked and for my ears, did not impact the tone or volume coming from the amp that much if at all. Takes a fair time to get one and it seems they are not always in stock and used ones are in high demand. I know when I put mine up for sale, it was a matter of hours before it sold for 85% of original price. Works on batteries unless you customize it.

The Squeal Kiler is a simple box with no on/off or knob adjustments. Straight 1/4" plug in, 1/4" out. Definitely does the job but seems to impact the volume reducing it by 1 - 2 settings on my DOuble Trouble. Where I would for the jams I go to set the volume at 6, with the Squeal Killer I put it at almost 8 for the same apparent (to my ears) volume. This seems to add some crunch that I like (maybe because of the increased volume) but no feedback with those settings that would go berserk if I used the 8 voume without the SK. Works on a hard wired AC adapter.

The other diiference is price and I think the guy that makse the SqK still offers a return, money back if you don't like it. I use mine almost all the time and am happy with it. But then I like simple!

Good luck with your decision - would love to hear what you decide and what your experience is

Thanks Hank, I play with a pretty loud rock band and I'd love to be able to get some more head room. Why in the end did you sell your Kinder?

Kinder

I found I wasn't using it - the old problem of how much effort do you go to to set up to play 3-4 songs at a jam and then break it down as quickly as possible. I was also looking to raise some cash for another project. It was at least a year before I got the squeal killer. I just leave it hooked up and there's no adjustments regardless of which mic or room I'm in.
