I very rarely play out, and when I do its at a jam, so I don't bring my amp. This amp was given to me about 20 years ago, and I don't use it that much. The controls are Volume, Master, Treble, Middle, Bass, a broken knob labeled Presence, and Reverb. My mike is a Hohner Blues Blaster, which I gather isn't a very good mike.
Is this amp any good for harp? Where can I get a knob to fix the Presence control, and what does "Presence" do?
I don't see too much chatter here about HarpGear. I know David is an endorser for MegaTone amps and I will someday fork over the cash to get one of those as well, but I would like to say, I am trying out the new HarpGear Hurricane amp. Quite impressive. I love the tone and with a built in reverb it is fantastic.
It is loosely modelled after a Fender Princeton Reverb. Cudos to Brian Purdy at HarpGear. It is a great addition to the line up.
I also have a double trouble of his but it doesn't hold a candle to the Hurricane in my mind.
I am going to purchase an inexpensive Fender amp for practice at home. Either the Champion 20, for $99.00, or the Mustang I V.2 for $119.00. Which would you buy and Why? I will pair the amp with a Shure mic. Thanks for the help!
I record parts of jam and practice sessions; it's just as reminder/reference, not to get a quality recording. I've been using a small digital recorder, but if I can do the equivalent on the iPad it'd be one less thing to carry, and would avoid downloading regularly. Any ideas?
I don't own computer but I like to have the right tools. Ive connected my iPad to a mixer using the USB camera kit, turns out theres tons of apps to help out musician on ios. So here's is a list of apps I use on my iPad.
Anytune pro+
This is like the amazing slow downer but better. The sound quality is fantastic and there's all the functionality you would want like markers, loop, pitch modification, dropbox import and export.
Hi there, I recently purchased a Shure 545S ( Vintage) from Ebay and it turns out the element is no good. What element is going to give me the sound I had expected. I ongoingly use a JT30 ( I have for years( but now that i have purchased this mic I would like to be able to use it. Thanks
Wondering what kind of experience people have had with various ear protection devices. There is a dizzying array of brands and types out there. Some claim to be "high-fidelity," all claim to be comfortable, ranging from cheap foam plugs (effective, but not so comfortable or high fidelity), to expensive custom-made mold types.
I am playing Special 20's but since they don't make it in key of low f, any suggestions on another harp in the low F tuning? Are the Lee Osker and Promaster anything like the SP20? Maybe another brand???
I am new to the LOA, and have harps in keys C, A, and G. Are there any other keys I need? They are all Special 20's, so I would like to have the ones I need for the course, but can wait on the extras till later on. thanks
Can you get a cheap harp like say the Bluesband to perform at the level of say a Special 20 with proper adjustment/customising or are the materials of the cheap harp a limiting factor.
