I received my Lone Wolf Delay pedal today and am totally pleased with it. I hooked it up to my Skip Simmons Masco Pa and it gave me "that sound" I've been looking. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Golden Melody availability concerns

Hi I'm relatively new to the harmonica but as with anything else I involve myself in, I try to learn to do my own maintenance/repair and or mods. I've only tried several different harmonicas (diatonic), but seem to like the Golden Melody. A friend told me heard Hohner was going to stop making them. Curiously enough, a few days later when I inquired as to backorder status of several out of stock keys through Musicians Friend, I was told that their information was "discontinued by manufacturer" and that when the "in stock" keys were gone they would not be replaced. continue reading...

Does a Fender 63 Tube Reverb amp offer any advantages over the Boss RV5?
can it be used with a low watt amp?

Tone and Equipment

After many attempts to 'buy' some decent amplified tone, (partially kidding) I'm just starting to appreciate the power of good tight cupping. When I think I have it and then squeeze a little tighter, the tone jumps another notch. I look at my hands on the mc in a mirror and think it's completely closed only to find it's not. I have trouble using the "against my face" technique to close off the top of the harp because I still switch to lip pursing (although I'm staying tongue blocked more and more). Is there going to be any work on this aspect of playing Dave??? continue reading...

Well Dave - I did it!! Ordered my DT from Brian Purdy (great guy and super service) and it arrived in great shape. What a beautiful looking tweed box!! Initially I had to play around quite a bit to understand feed back issues and tone. Most of the problem was my playing - cupping - technique but as that comes together, I'm starting to really understand why this amp is so highly rated by the big boys. continue reading...

Masco Amp

I've got a Fanon-Masco 3311 PA Amp hooked up to a vintage Newcomb 15" speaker cab. Man does this rig scream. I also played it through David's 2x12" Wezo Speaker Cab and it had a totally different sound that I like even better. I've had a few friends play the amp (Jim Johnson, Aki Kumar, and Dick Smith, Plus David Barrett) and they all thought it sounded great. Jim Johnson said he wanted one. I got the PA from Fritz Hasenpusch who had Skip Simmons do his magic on it. Skip specializes in Masco Amps and from what I've heard they all sound good when he does them. continue reading...
