I just bought a Behringer V-Amp 3. Trouble is I put my headphones on and get lost in all the sounds I can make with my harp instead of doing what I sould be doing and earning some money. But nevermind! What these sort of devices produce may be only a close imitation of the real amps but the old masters didn't buy high end gear. They just made do with what they could afford and produced music that still thrills. It seems to me that if they'd had what we can have they wouldn't have restricted their tone pallette. continue reading...
I have generally not been a fan of effects, but recently have decided that there are some tones that probably aren't going to be found any other way. I have had an Ibanez AD9 analog delay for some time, but have never been thrilled with it. I know David likes the Dan E echo and others mention the Lone Wolf. What makes one stand out over another? Any input would be appreciated - I hate to buy another toy that ends up in the unused pile. continue reading...
I received my Lone Wolf Delay pedal today and am totally pleased with it. I hooked it up to my Skip Simmons Masco Pa and it gave me "that sound" I've been looking. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
Hi I'm relatively new to the harmonica but as with anything else I involve myself in, I try to learn to do my own maintenance/repair and or mods. I've only tried several different harmonicas (diatonic), but seem to like the Golden Melody. A friend told me heard Hohner was going to stop making them. Curiously enough, a few days later when I inquired as to backorder status of several out of stock keys through Musicians Friend, I was told that their information was "discontinued by manufacturer" and that when the "in stock" keys were gone they would not be replaced. continue reading...
does anyone know a good decent priced amp and mic to buy with good sound i am fairly new to the harmonica and dont know what to get without spending to much
After many attempts to 'buy' some decent amplified tone, (partially kidding) I'm just starting to appreciate the power of good tight cupping. When I think I have it and then squeeze a little tighter, the tone jumps another notch. I look at my hands on the mc in a mirror and think it's completely closed only to find it's not. I have trouble using the "against my face" technique to close off the top of the harp because I still switch to lip pursing (although I'm staying tongue blocked more and more). Is there going to be any work on this aspect of playing Dave??? continue reading...
