I heard that with a valved harmonica you can bend all the notes,Would that allow it to be played chromtically,if a person was not OB yet?Whats are some of the pro's and con;s of the valved harmonicas, such as longivity, ease of use,I havent decided to get 1 or not but I am curious about the chromatic use of 1.

Hi David,

I am looking for some advice on purchasing my first amp for practice. Reading other posts and seeing what is available at my local music shop I have the option these two:

Vox DA-5
or
Fender Champion 600

I have read:
http://www.bluesharmonica.com/amps_and_mics

Looking at Youtube and the above the Vox does seem to have some good tone for a solid state, but should I be going for the Fender since it is tube?? can I please have some advice and or your opinion of which way to go before purchasing. Both are similar price so that is not an issue.

Thanks in advance, continue reading...

CM & CR mics take 2

G'day, interested in opinions: I am wondering if there is much point having more than 1 mic of this type. i have a nice EV605 with a 99B86. i'm really happy with it.

my question is, is there any point having say a jt-30/shure 520/turner challenger...with a 99a86, or 99h86 etc...or will it just be pretty much the same signal coming out of a different shell...

rather than picking up another CM/CR mic, would i be better off getting work done on my sm58 (such as blowsmeaway's "ultimate" mod) to make it more stage friendly and give me more versatility. continue reading...
