Does anyone have any information about pro studio music recording ap for the Iphone. In the Itunes ap store the description reads as if you can import a track from the library and record yourself . It is a paid ap I think the cost is $10. I'm sure the ap doesn't have all the functionality of Garage Band but could still be useful. The recordings are in AAC mp4 format, and can be emailed from the ap. continue reading...
Just had a look at the newest Hohner harmonica catalog. In it I noticed a lot of changes. Notable ones include updates to the original Marine Band, Marine Band Deluxe, the low Crossovers are now called "Tunderbird" (thanks to Joe Filisko and Little Walter), and changes to the Special 20. I have a couple of concerns, both good and bad, for all of these changes. continue reading...
I've started getting into the harp tech studies and I've been looking for an accurate tuner to experiment with just intonation. I've tried a cheap digital tuner and also the free downloadable "AP tuner" but I can't seem to get the accuracy I want with either. continue reading...
DJL Vintage Audio (home of MegaTone Amps) has been restoring and putting great harp mods into old P.A. amps for many years but has not really promoted this service until now. If you would like to have that big fat 50's sound but can't afford a new boutique amp, then you might be interested in our service. continue reading...
I just received my custom Seydel harmonica from Jon Harl. After playing this harp the first word that comes to mind is PERFECTION!!!This harp is extremely air tight, responsive and the tonal quality is outstanding. Stock Seydels are nice harps but this is truly a professional quality harp now. Dealing with Jon was a pleasure he listened to what I was looking for in a harp and delivered exactly what he said he would and so much more. I can say with all certainty that some day I will have a case full of custom Seydels by Jon Harl.
I recently got an iPhone4 and was checking out some apps when I came across this Ampltube app which is for guitar player to use different amps, effects pedal, recording, different spkers combos etc lots of options they sell this adapter called iRig that allows for your 1/4 in jk to 1/8 in into iPhone and also gives an 1/8 in jk out for headphones (or external recorder. Anyone use this? Haven't heard it mentioned for harp, but why not!?
I have a Astatic 30 which I sent to Fritz years ago and he set it up great for harp. I hadn't played much amplified harp for quiet a while, but now I am back in full time, head over heels. I have been trying to bond with the Biscuit, but I just can't get a good grip on it. It is too small and kind of uncomfortable. Anybody else feel the same way? I hate to let it go, it sounds fine (when I can get a good grip/seal) but I just can't get comfortable grip like I can on a bullet mic.
