I just unpacked my Hot rod deville. It's pretty old , from July 97 ACcording to the sticker, but seems to be in mint condition. All original. I haven't plugged a mic into it yet, but I powered it up and while it is generally very quiet I did notice a strange crackle come in for a while, which disappeared after a couple of minutes. I'm speculating that the amp is probably due for some attention to capacitors, as it is 15 years old and reportedly done very little work the last 10 years. Anyway, it is heading to the workshop this week for some mods as per Aki's recent submission. continue reading...
I've just received a Honeytone mini amp and I am having a great time with it. Now, I would like to record it's output on my computer.
The only inputs my desktop has is a headset mic input, and USB inputs. I have no Line-In input.
I believe the best way would be to use the USB input, and I would need some kind of 1/8inch or 1/4inch Jack / USB converter, into which I plug in the output of my amp, and that I connect to the computer with the USB port.
I just scored a SF PR. does anyone know much about them? this has the original speaker. is it likely to be any good for harp? which 10" speaker would you reccommend?

Today I started to play my new 270 Bb Chromatic that Steve Malerbi customized for me and discovered the 4 blow wouldn't respond. I was thinking it was a stuck windsaver but when I got the covers off I discovered that a turkey sandwich was wedged on the edge of the reed. I took my reed plinker and gently removed the object and the problem was solved. continue reading...
