Well Dave - I did it!! Ordered my DT from Brian Purdy (great guy and super service) and it arrived in great shape. What a beautiful looking tweed box!! Initially I had to play around quite a bit to understand feed back issues and tone. Most of the problem was my playing - cupping - technique but as that comes together, I'm starting to really understand why this amp is so highly rated by the big boys. I usually mic it at our Sunday jams but last week because of a shortage of input spots on the mixing board of the PA system (not really sure of this but trusted the sound guy) we cranked it and put it straight out. WOW!! No feedback audience heard it fine. Small problem - the guitar player on the far side of the stage said he could not hear me so I'll have to figure this one out if we don't mic the amp. Bottom line s I am very glad I got this amp and at my stage don't really see myself needing much more 'poop'.

Great...
You may want to rotate the amp slightly towards the side of the stage the guitarist is on... give it a try.

Last week I had the chance to

Last week I had the chance to mic the amp so didn't have to give angling the amp a try. The monitor looked after that!

This week, because of a keyboard being set up where we usually put the amp and the 'confusion' that was going on, I just went into the house system (unhooked the vocal mic and hooked up my loZ ) and all was well. The tips on cupping made a huge difference even without going into the amp. I couldn't believe how much fuller the tone was into the PA!! Slowly getting there - or somewhere!!

Every week at the Jam I learn something new because it's different every week.
