Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Amp

Posted Tue, 03/12/2019 - 11:36 by JamesH

I've had a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe guitar amp for about 18 years. I want to make it more harmonica friendly. Currently, i can set the volume to 1 maybe 1.5 before feedback becomes a problem. It has a lot of settings, including reverb, that I can play with to adjust tone. Any thoughts on how to eliminate or significantly reduce the feedback?

Amp has 2 6L6GC/5881 Power Tubes and 3 12AX7A pre-amp tubes.

special 20 verus crossover

I feel like I'm committing some kinda crime amost by bringing this up but when replaced my A special 20 with a marine band crossover to try it before buying a full 12 key set. many of the pros seem to play the marine band harps, so I great expectations for the crossover.

while I love the sound and fast reponse, the different cover plate designs seems to leave a sharo edge on the bamboo comb that is not near as comfortable as the special 20 when playing. continue reading...

Hello everyone,

I am planing to build a custom cab with multiple speakers. I have a 5w tube amp with a 10'' jensen that sound great for my feeling. I read that cab with 2x10'' or 2x8' + 1x10'' gave good result.

Das anyone tried to mix three speakers of size 8'', 10'' and 12''.

A thank you in advance for your answers.

Roger

Laney Cub 212r

Hi

I know by going through the reviews on amps here 10” speakers are better than 12” for harp playing but I have a chance of a Laney Cub 212r, should I give this a miss or give it a try, I have recently purchased a Bulletini mic to go with my amp.

Cheers

going through a lot of harps.

Greetings.

I have been taking the LOA excersices for about a year now.  I have been going through quite a few harmonicas.  Already I had to repurchase several in the key of A and D.  I am going with the recommended marine band Hohners.

I am thinking I should invest in an instrument that might hold up to my endless practicing.  Its frustrating to get into a practice session ony to be held up because a note here or there is no longer accessible.   I appreciate any advise from the experts.

Custom grill silk and mesh for bullet mics?

Hi there, I’ve noticed, (over the years), the custom bullet mics with Grill cloth/mesh in a variety of colors; does anyone know where to obtain this? A google search reveals cool blue, red  mics,(etc.), with cloth colors matching the mic,  but no info, thanks!

Order or effect in my chain

Hello, Can anyone give me some advice as a starting point for the order of my effects? I mainly just go with my LW octave and my LW v2 delay but I have accumulated a few more and am plying out with friends more so I was trying to get a more versatile rig. Currently I have it in this order: Shield, LW Break, LW Octave, MXR Boost, V2 Delay and Sonic Stomp. I run them through my HG2 or my Kalamazoo 2. Its ok I think but and change suggestions would be much appreciate.  continue reading...
