Cleaning your harp

Im nearing the end of the beginner phase.  Ive played the heck out of A harp and open it clean it now and then.  I see the reeds and frame showing corrosion and discoloration.  Any tips on how to clearn the guts of the harp?  At some point should I just get a new one?  It still plays fine.

Used Amp Shopping

I play as a hobby on my own, so while I'd like an amp, I don't want to spend a lot of money. I've been keeping an eye out for used amps at music stores and antique shops, but I'm not 100% sure what qualities I should be looking for.

In general, my rule of thumb that I read somewhere has been: a tube amp with single-didgit watts and single-didgit inch measurement for the speaker cone. So a five-watt tube amp with an 8-inch speaker, for example.

Does anybody have thoughts about those criteria, or other qualities I should keep in mind when looking around?

Thanks much!

Just received my new custom harp case from Bushman Music.  The case is beautiful!  Wasn't too pleased with the customer service experience, but well worth the money.

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to get my first mic for my harmonica. I'm considering getting a bulletini as that company was mentioned in the modern harmonica mic video.

I've got a late 80's fender tube twin amp that i use for guitar.  Its way bigger than I need for my home harmonica playing but I allreayd have it so figure I'll just use it.

Would this set-up work out ok?  Any other recomendatiosn considerign the amp i'll be playing through?

what pedal for a beginner

Hi everyone,

I have a bullet Harmonica Microphone (D112/C Superlux) which plays through a yamaha MG06X mixer and I listen with headphones (I have no amp yet).

I want to add some effect to my harmonica and am thinking of buying the Zoom Multi-Stomp MS-50G which is less expensive than a delay pedal, a reverb pedal and an amp.

I am guessing that with this multi-effect and time I will learn more about effects and know better what I will want to buy.

Is this a good choice ?

What would you propose ?

Thanks,

Bod

Hi,

I found this hurp forum topic where a guy posts pictures of his homemade harps. I have no idea what they sound like, but they are beautiful and one of a kind ! Certainly worth checking.

Hello! Has anybody tried "TC electronic Hall of Fame Reverb" pedal for playing harp? http://www.tcelectronic.com/hall-of-fame-reverb/

Is it worth buyIng? Also what reverb pedals (besides Lone Wolf pedals) are good for harp in your opinion? I would appreciate all info about it.
