Hello Harp Techs,
My second “harmonica” microphone, after the Astatic JT30-c that I bought from Quement Electronics in 1973 was (still is,‘cause I still have them both;o), a Shure PE54 with pistol grip (and switch). Essentially the same as the Shure 545, except my PE54 was set up for Hi-Z. Over the years I migrated to the Shure 57, then to Greg’s Ultra57. continue reading...
I found an old post of Kinya's when I was digging through the forum the other day and decided I wanted to try it. He said you could take a comb out of Hohner's children's harmonicas and put them in a special 20 because they fit. So I ordered a purple one and he was totally right. It did fit, and it plays just like before. But now I think also looks awesome in addition to playing awesome!
I predominantly play Suzuki Manjis but decided to splash out and have a harp customised. Neil Graham ( http://www.neilgraham.com.au/ ) was recommended to me. Neil is a Hohner affiliated customiser who lives on the south coast of NSW so if there are any Australians on the forum, I can recommend his work. The base harp is a Marine Band Deluxe. Needless to say I am very happy with the result. Great work and many thanks Neil.

Before the SPAH conference I posted a video demonstrating some new harp sensor technology ideas, which I collectively called The Cyborg Harmonica, and I presented all of it again in a seminar there. The seminar and the tech I presented were pretty well received overall, but there was particular interest in the electronic hand-wah I am now calling the J-Wah. continue reading...

Hi there, I think of buying a Fireballmic. Now there are two models on the market, same price. The Fireball V has a volume control. Has anyone experience using them or can help me which to choose?
