I had some componets that I already owned and used them with other instruments so I knew they worked. I was concerned about weight and usability so that was a factor in choosing the harp rack. I also wanted to be wireless and be able to use the mic for sax and clarinet. Found that I can just remove the rack and hang it so I can still use the mic with it still mounted to the harmonica in the rack. I also tried a boom mic stand as I wanted to use it for keyboard and guitar. This setup worked the best for me. continue reading...

Hello everyone.
I would be happy to hear any feedback on my current tech setup. I have a Silverfish Silver Bullet mic with a Clean/Dirty switch and a Boss Katana 50W amp that I originally bought for my guitar.
I've never tried other mics or amps and would like to know if these will be enough for my first years into harmonica journey or if they have any serious weak points.

Anyone know where I can purchase a portable music stand to mount in my work van? I spend a lot of time in my van waiting on dispatch etc... and would like a music stand to put all my paper music on, notation documents, etc.
I just watched the photo montage that David did on building the 1x10 cabinet. I love the style and that he got it done using scraps he had on hand. Thanks for sharing that, I really enjoyed it.
That caught my interest on a couple of levels. I'm just starting to learn blues harp, I have wanted to learn for a long time. Just took a global pandemic to get me moving I guess. (Side note: tongue blocking...really looking forward to being over the hump on that. O.M.G.) continue reading...
Is tongue block easier on protruding reed (ie. special 20s) or recessed reed (ie. crossover) harps?
By protruding reed, I'm talking about how the special 20 reed extends in front of the cover plate. On the recess reed on the crossover, the cover plate is a tiny amound in front of the reed.
I'm a developing player using mostly pucker. I see the value in tongue block and would like to try ransition to that for the bulk of my playing. continue reading...
