I was interested to see John Shilys video on Smart phone live performance. This is a field, the electronic amplification, I am totally unfamiliar with and would have liked to see the set up. Hopefully John can do another short video explaining the set up and connections for rabbits like me.

Hello from Kathmandu, Nepal! New to the site. I’m a complete beginner harmonica enthusiast and keen to hone up my skills from this site. I recently purchased the classic Marine Band 1896 Harmonica in the key of C. I also have an old Pignose 7-100 amp lying around the house. I’ve read about using the Pignose amp as a decent harmonica amp on the internet. What is the general consensus about this amp as a beginner practice amp for home practice? Also can you please recommend me some budget microphones good enough for home practice to use with the Piggy? Thank you!
Recently, I bought the Roland, the Sony and the Bulletini. I had been eying these for a while, especially the Sony headphones, but really just never jumped, until recently that is. I had posted some questions and brshoemaker requested a review of the Roland so I thought I'd review all three as they do work as a package. continue reading...
Hey, all. Just got a Roland Micro Cube and was wondering if anyone can provide suggested settings for a gritty sound? Thhis is my first amp so all suggetions are welcome.
Hi, David. I've posted here because the forum directed to you seems to be limited to questions on lessons. In your amp review, you specifically mentioned not reviewing the Pig Nose and gave a reason for that decision. Unfortunately, I've lost track of exact video and would rather not rewatch five or six for what amounts to being a five-second comment. Can you please remind of the reason you did not review the Pig Nose?
Hey, all. After two years, I want to try my hand at electrified music and will be ordering a Bulletini mic later this week. My question concerns the accompanying amp. I know Gregg recommends the Laney Cub but the price is a bit too steep for my first amp. I was thinking of the Fender Champion 20 1x8" 20-watt Combo which was recommended to me as a good practice amp by a guitarist I know.
I play guitar and bass for a while and decided to step in to the harp world.
First I intended to buy the cheapest available but I saw some reviews and knew it would be harder to learn in those. Them I found this Hohner 360, at an incredible price (around 15 dollars - I live in Argentina, by the way), it's even cheaper than the special 20. I certified it was not Chinese and jump into it.
The only review I've found so far in it was a YouTube video in Russian or ucranian and no subtitles at all. continue reading...
