Lingot 0.9.1 under linux, because of the spectral view. I love seing the frequency peak sliding in the right direction when I try to bend. It is also easy to spot the tone skip that might happen when the tongue doesn't follow the mouth cavaty. I have tried several others, this one has my preference.

Im just getting started with Garage band for simple recordings. I can get it record a track, but there is a metranome sound in the background. Anyone know how to diable this?
I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find the tabs (or the musicscore)for Little Walters"Oh Baby". I am particularly interested in the opening lick. Its one I like and wanted to use a derivation for a LOA4 piece that I am thinking to use. Whilst the recording that I have listened to is not clear I think he is playing 2 2 3/4 5+ 4 3 2 2. Whilst I have already decided how I might use this lick I would be interested in his rendition. It sounds like a C harp second position with a heavy byas for the notes of the I and IV chords. continue reading...

Id like to start to get my Riffs on paper. Surely there has to be some software which would allow me to play a riff on a graphical piano keyboard and then have it transcribed onto a music staff (and paper).
So I would like to see a keyboard on a screen (tablet for example), I play it in rhythem and the software represents it as notes on a musiscal staff.
Anyone know of such software..... If not, perhaps I should develop it.
When a first tried to adjust the gap of the reeds I tried to reduce the gaps. What happenend then was an absence of sound when I was blowing a little hard.
Going to the Reed gaping videos, I learned that a larger gap was needed. It took me a few days to understand why. This is maybe common knowledge but since I don't recall having seen it somewhere I'll explain why here. continue reading...
Ok so these are the softwares that work on windows and you can use in place of Harpninja, Amazing Slowdowner and a metronome. All are free to use, so there you go!
It pops up a "Register" window every few seconds, when it pops up just press Ctrl+ Alt+ Delete --> Task Manager --> Application --> Right click on "Register Bendometer" --> Click "Minimize". You're good to go!
In one week It will have been 2 years since I started playing, however I'm still a beginner as I seem to go through periods of playing constantly and then nothing for about 4 months. I really want to geat good at the harmonica but the problem is I'm not used to sticking with challenging things so I was wondering if anyone could offer advice?
Okay, so apparantly I was quiet free and was surfing through all the lessons this wonderful site has to offer, and I ended up making a list of all the lessons and the keys needed in those lessons. Turns out, you can go through first three levels with just a harp in Key A! I'm sharing the list here, I've tried my best to be precise. It only includes the lessons available in "Levels of Achievement" tab on the top of website. Contributers' lessons are not included. Hope this helps at least one person!
I've written a small program that might be helpful for other users of this website. It provides similar functionality to the amazing slow downer, but is free software:
a_to_c.py is a script to convert songs from one pitch to the other, and optionally change their tempo.
I'm fairly new here. While I'm waiting for my A harmonica to arrive in the mail, I've been working through the LOA lessons and study songs. I only have a C harmonica. I made this work by transposing all of the study songs up 3 semitones. It's a hacky solution, but I'm a PhD Computer Science student, so hacky is a way of life for me.
I thought I'd share how to do this, since I didn't easily find it on these forums. continue reading...
