Isn't easier, to play hole 1, just push the harmonica more to the right ?
I'm a beginer (just started level 5) and I was wondering if there some reason or advantage to use tongue switch (put my tongue to the right to play hole 1), because it seems to be more dificult than just let my tongue in the left and push harmonica more to the right. continue reading...
When I learn a new piece, I break it down to parts (usually choruses) and practice them one after another in a slower tempo. Once I learn all the parts and I can play the whole piece slowly, I gradully increase the tempo untill I reach the final one.
Is this a correct approach? Or should I gradually speed up every single part immediately while learning it? Which approach do you use and which works best for you?
On the beginner fundementals it states the following:
need the A Harmonica for this study.
I have a Hohner Special 20 in the key of C. Will this work or does this mean I will need another harmonica in the key of A? I am brand new to all of this.

I started lesson with my phone this morning.. what is the benefit in tongue blocking and is it really that important to learn? it seems hard. I only been lip blocking and i tried putting my tongue in there but the bending with the tongue attached to the harp didnt feel good..
Also i have been playing years with cheap harps that leak and havent learned overblowing. Do you think blues harp By hohner in g easier or golden melody on A gettinh an overblow? Thanl youfor your answer greetinhs from Finland

I'm sure this question gets asked all the time but I couldn't find a answer going through the site. I just got a C harmonica because that's where I thought I would need to start. I want to go through the LoA but it says I need an A key harmonica.
I'd like to know if I can find tablatures on this website ? I just bought an harmonica crossover and get a free access in here.I'd like to practice a bit bends and overblows with blues and jazz. Would you have any advice for me of where I can find tabs ?
So I went to my first blues Jam session. The music was varied, but some 12 bar blues. I had no business being there, but regardless I want to be able to play accompanyment next time in 2 weeks.
Most tabs I find are really more solo and I want to play with the band at some level. I working on level 3 if I could ever get that darn 3 draw bend down. Always goes 1 1/2 step which isn't going to win any level 3 awards. My goal is by the end of the year. continue reading...
