Wash your hands before playing

Germs tend to die when the harp dries out. That said, it's not a bad idea to be cautious in this flu season.

Also, the cold or flu you already have may not re-infect you as you're already fighting it off.

If your harp has a plastic body, you could rinse it in alcohol or mouthwash to kill germs, or just hot water.

To avoid catching new bugs, wash your hands before you play so that any germs you've touched don't get transferred to your mouth via your hands, and don't touch your lips or eyelids unless you've just washed your hands.
