So... let me give you some background. I have had a guitar (electric) for nearly 30 years and always had it in the back of my mind to go back to learning it as music was a great love of mine.. ( my preferred style being death metal! :) ). I bought recently a new acoustic and I was finding it bothersome to my one or two picks between picking the guitar up and putting it back down again and bumping it on things... so i got the idea of a harmonica.... wow! something that i can take in my pocket anywhere and pull out and start playing. continue reading...
I have learned to play the song Blues Creepin Over Me and my husband (who is taking guitar lessons) is trying to learn to play the guitar part by ear. I was wondering if anyone knows what the chords are that moves up the scale starting around 1:47 to 1:54. (for the guitar part)
Does anyone have the tabs for this song by Meatloaf? I know it's not blues but the intro is very cool and I wanted to add it elsewhere. Unfortunately, Harptabs.com doesn't show it listed and I'm not adept enough (yet?) to be able to do this on my own.
New the site/program and starting at level 1 tongue blocking and the song "walk with me" immediately uses throat tremolo...are there any exercises that work directly with throat tremolo? I've been trying for sometime now with no success~thanks
I'm working towards level 2 and have hit a wall. I am finding it difficult to keep my motivation going, admittedly I have been busy developing my business which is taking up a lot of, but I haven't been feeling enthusiastic about picking up the harmonica, in fact it has become a chore and something I should do rather than want to do.
I have been missing day after day, but try to do 15 minutes daily. I am hoping that this is a natural phase and as I progress will become more motivated?
My daughter is learning to play violin, and so I thought it would be fun if we could learn some songs to play together. I'm wondering if anyone can point me toward some songs/sheet music that we could play. The songs would have to be very simple, since we are both beginners (albei, her violin skill level is well beyond my harmonica skill level). Any ideas would be appreciated. Holiday tunes would be extra fun.
I've been zipping through the videos to get an overview. Much later down in the course David goes into detail on bass lines. This is awesome for me because I can take that info and learn those on my cello and guitar. David teaches you in that section how to play the bass lines on the harmonica (pretty simple stuff really) in order to get the theory into your body and get an intuitive feel for the theory. It's great and I think it's going to help me a lot with getting the theory into my body. continue reading...
