Adapting backing tracks

Posted Fri, 01/17/2020 - 11:59 by gwknopp@gmail.com

Im working to branch out a bit and would like to play For Once in My Life the stevie wonder classic.

I found tabs online in the key of C.

The only backing track I find is in the key of F.

So it appears I would need to transpose the Tabs to key of F and use an F harp (first pos) or a Bb harp Second position.

This is a lot of effort.

Then I see there are some sites that appear to customize Jam Tracks.  What does this mean?

Can anyone give me some guidance here?

Useful programs to learn songs by ear

Hi, everybody. I'm from Brazil and this is only my second day here.Do you have some program that can be useful to learn songs by ear? I'm still a beginner but I guess it won't be a problem to try to learn some songs by ear. I always searched for the song tab on google but I guess this habit is not helping me at all. Sometimes I think that my ears are not so "well trained". So, since I never learned any song by ear, I thought it might exist some program with some usefull stuff in this case.Do you have any recommendation?

Did anyone experience this? When i first started practiceing 1 hour seemed like half a day, but im about 4 weeks in and im starting to get my head around things and the hours seem to be flying by. I am well and truely hooked on this instrument, im just a little cross with myself that i picked the guitar up instead of the harp 15 years ago.oh well, better late than never.

Fluid and Consistant Playing

Hello All and Happy New Year. I have two distinct but related questions. First, though, a bit about me. I'm in my late 50s and have been playing the harp for about 20 months and following the Levels of Achievement program for about 15 months. Prior to this I had absolutely no musical training. I've now completed LOA 3 and am working on LOA4. My musical ability has, I think, fairly much kept pace with the LOA program. With that said, here are my two questions: continue reading...

Greetings!

So... let me give you some background.  I have had a guitar (electric) for nearly 30 years and always had it in the back of my mind to go back to learning it as music was a great love of mine.. ( my preferred style being death metal! :) ).  I bought recently a new acoustic and I was finding it bothersome to my one or two picks between picking the guitar up and putting it back down again and bumping it on things... so i got the idea of a harmonica.... wow! something that i can take in my pocket anywhere and pull out and start playing. continue reading...

Blues Creepin Over Me (Guitar part)

Hi David (or others)

I have learned to play the song Blues Creepin Over Me and my husband (who is taking guitar lessons) is trying to learn to play the guitar part by ear. I was wondering if anyone knows what the chords are that moves up the scale starting around 1:47 to 1:54. (for the guitar part)

Thanks!

Toby
