does anyone know if Paul deLay was a pure tongue block player (like Joe Filisko and Dennis Gruenling are) or did he use both techniques, lip pursing and tongue blocking, in his diatonic harmonica playing? All the best, Manuel

HI everyone,
I've been playing (badly)for many years, primarily for my own enjoyment. Recently started this program. I can hit the chord changes, bend a bit, and generally play along with a jam track, albeit without much creativity. I have now been invited by a friend who is a solid guitar player to accompany him at a a local jam, but we need a few suggestions of what to play. We can both sing a bit, so I was thinking of a simple 12 bar blues that we can trade vocals, maybe each take a solo, and get out of there with no fruit hurled at us.
Im pretty new to tongue blocking, things are going relatively well but it seems that i have some trouble playing draw notes from about hole 6 and above. It sounds about the same as the draw 2 does for some people. Is this a common problem, and if so. Does anyone have some tips to fix this?
Hi, everybody. I'm from Brazil and this is only my second day here.Do you have some program that can be useful to learn songs by ear? I'm still a beginner but I guess it won't be a problem to try to learn some songs by ear. I always searched for the song tab on google but I guess this habit is not helping me at all. Sometimes I think that my ears are not so "well trained". So, since I never learned any song by ear, I thought it might exist some program with some usefull stuff in this case.Do you have any recommendation?
Did anyone experience this? When i first started practiceing 1 hour seemed like half a day, but im about 4 weeks in and im starting to get my head around things and the hours seem to be flying by. I am well and truely hooked on this instrument, im just a little cross with myself that i picked the guitar up instead of the harp 15 years ago.oh well, better late than never.
Hi there, is it normal for my tongue to bleed when im toungue blocking? if so, will my tongue get used to it after time? im on my new marine band quite a lot and i dont want this to hold me back. thanks for any help.
Hello All and Happy New Year. I have two distinct but related questions. First, though, a bit about me. I'm in my late 50s and have been playing the harp for about 20 months and following the Levels of Achievement program for about 15 months. Prior to this I had absolutely no musical training. I've now completed LOA 3 and am working on LOA4. My musical ability has, I think, fairly much kept pace with the LOA program. With that said, here are my two questions: continue reading...
