When recording yourself for submitting songs to the website, does anyone else feel like the gymnast who, after practicing their routine long and hard for months, executes a perfect routine for the judges, goes to stick the landing (that LAST lick) and falls flat on their face? Do-over!!
I want to start tuning my harmonica. I already got the Cleartune app and I have noticed that several notes are out of tune in my Marine Band Classic (C).
I would like to have a go at tuning it, just for practice. The problem is that I don´t have access to specialized tools and there is no place to get them because because of the Coronavirus. continue reading...
I am happy to be back to bluesharmonica.com It is indeed very helpful specially in this time of the Covid crisis. Not only educational but also therapeutic as well. Keeps me sane. Here is a wish for everyone to stay safe and healthy. Keep your harps clean.

Ive used Garage Band for recording. I just stumbled on the fact that there are standard drum beats in there. Not much documentaiton available. Has anyone got guidance on how to get a drum beat for slow or fast blues? What Ive tried so far makes no sense for our music.
I'm looking for some guidance - I'm currently using garage band to record my submissions. I'm uploading the Jam Track and have been recording a seperate track, using the Jam Track as a back up. Is there a way that I can merge these tracks? Up until now I have been resorting to playing the two tracks simultaniously and using the internal mic on my Mac to record both tracks into one. As you can immagine, the result isn't the greatest - the song comes out thin and tin-can-ey and virtually wipes out all intended dynamics and color I'm adding to the song.
Saw this last night on Prime. It's a feature-length documentary on Paul Butterfield and his various blues acts. It contains interviews with many of his contemporaries and even his ex wife and his son. I thought it was excellent so just wanted to pass it on. Well worth the time.
I am actually emabrassed to post this. But it is bugging me so much today.
I have played a C Harmoanica for 6 months and have just a day ago started practing with an A. I dont know why but my 3 blow just feel so much harder to play comapred to my C harp. It feels as if i need to ensure a better flow of air, like there is less leeway.
I dont know. maybe its just one of those days. thanks

Id like to be able to play along with some of these. I have TABs for St Louis Blues in the key of C. Id like to find a jam track to fit. When I look at the web I see a few. Most do not state what key they are in. Others are in different keys or just make no sense for other reasons.
Is there any way to identify what key or just trial and error? I realize I can change key using a software tool like slow downer or Anytune.
