Congratulations Ryan. I thought you did a great job - sure there were some things but that's how we learn. Loved the tone, articulation and stage presence. I know the first time I went up on the stage (last year in Morgan Hill) it was nowhere near the polished performance you put on. Well done!!!
Ive learned the pucker style previously and on joining this site have to begin at the beginning all over again learning tongue technique - its frustrating - I would like to learn at same time rhythm harp techniques -- basically playing chords to make the rhythm - where is that here - Ive had a look cant find it - Im tired perhaps Im looking well enough
About a third of the way into Mark Hummel's book "Big Road Blues". ALthough I've read several books on Blues and Blues musicians, because of my knowing and having had contact with Mark, I'm finding this fascinating. Man, has he ever been "around the block several times"!! Its an easy read and quite the insight into many blues musicians and especially Mark. I'm committed to one chapter a day, but finding it difficult to stop reading. I'm anxious to get further into it.
Got it through Amazon. Highly recommended reading.

So what id like to know is is this really right for me to be playing just from sight..... I'm not sure yet about eighths and quarter staff notes... continue reading...
I just subscribed to BH.com last night (about time with all the cool content and players here!).
I look forward to working through the vids, the wealth of information, and getting to know some new folks on the forum.
This is Bharath Rajakumar ... a harmonica player in Montreal
This may be so unimportant that I shouldn't mention it ... A friend of mine turned me onto the interview with David Waldman recently where David sort of mentions that I said that I could tell when Little Walter was puckering or tongue blocking , and I want to address this for a second ... First of all Ill say that David Waldman of all of them alive today still in my books my favorite harmonica player and someone I consider to be a good friend , ... and truly a master like any of the old pre and post war players continue reading...
Has anyone used MuseScore for transcribing/notating music?
It's a free, open source program you can download for any platform at musescore.org.
I just started fiddling with it, and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it. continue reading...
Great rehearsal Ryan - I thought you did really well and wish you well for the concert - knowing you'll do great!! Great tone out of that rig and solid confident articulation!! Looked and sounded like a pro.
Those SJ Sharks should bring you out for in between period entertainment!!
