Would anybody know of a resource that describes, and ideally demonstrate audibly, the different blues rhythms and their various feels (e.g. shuffle, rhumba, flat-tire, boogie, slow blues, etc.)? Thanks in advance.

And not their solo stuff, just all their accompaniment with Muddy. Is there such a collection already? Sure would be nice if someone had the time and energy to put together such a collection (with personnel and liner notes, would be a dream come true). Anyone ever try to compile such a collection on their own. If so, what are the major cds, vinyl to get?
Congratulations to Ben for his success at the Rhumba King 'play off' and to Steve for making it (from the sounds of it) exciting!! I can hardly wait to watch and hear the videos of the event!!
Hi every 1 I hope everone is good after Sandy . I put in my best practice time when I didn't have power for 3 days. Nothing more to do.Some things I noticed when you have no power. What ever you studied will come back to you right off the top of your head. and some things you still have to look at. ( with a flashlight ) Not to often save battery life. it makes you remember . also if your not hearing a note just right. you practice until you get it RIGHT. bc what else can you do ( You have no electric ) continue reading...

Dear Blues Harmonica Friends,
Dave Workman, who's been playing the blues for 57 years--50 years professionally--has recently come down with endocarditis due to a prolapsed valve. He was hospitalized for 5 days and has an IV in his arm to his heart for which he's administering antibiotics at home for the next month. He has possible heart surgery on the horizon if it damages his heart enough. His deductibles and co-pays are $10,000 to date plus he can't work. continue reading...

Hearing two pro's bounce ideas off each other is great for learning
It was very useful to watch & hear Dave Scribe (sequence) Gary's ascending pattern to the IV chord
I don't know if this has been mentioned before but one of the best, if not the best. place to buy CD's on the internet is Bluebeat Music. David turned me onto it years ago and I like Charlie Lange (owner) very much. He's got some very hard to find CD's. Also we need to support these small companies who cater to the blues.
