notes on staff

ok.  I have just confused myself again.  thinking that I had some of this position stuff figured out, I was dabbling in one of the study songs and realized that the notes on the staff do not match what the tuner says that I am playing on the A harp.

i.e. Walk with me starts out on a B staff note but my A harp 3 draw is playing a G# but it sounds right and in tune while playing with slowdowner.

understanding that the G# is the third scale degree of E and we're playing in E, I can't see how that relates to the staff designated leading B note.  continue reading...

Hi! I am new just entered in this site and forum.

My knowdledge of harmonica is zero, I've never played it, but I would like to learn how to use.

I saw in the first lesson is suggested to use an "A" type.

I bought a "C" diatonic harmonica, (Hohner 360).

Is it ok too to learn?

many thanks.

Wrong way to bend?

Hello communitiy!

Since a few weeks I've been struggling with bending and finally I'm getting somewhere, but I have doubts regarding my technique. I managed to have a pitch-wise proper bend (I can tell it's proper since I use HarpNinja), however it feels to me that I achieve it wrong way: for the 4th hole bend I put my tongue back so it's rather "koo" than "key", and my jaw gets tired quite fast, although as far as I know it shouldn't be involved. continue reading...

Ok I been Playing Harmonica for a month now. I have a key of C older Special 20 that I bought new years ago and never had the time to learn. I learn Real real fast. I play 8 different instruments. Any way now I have the time. I Bought A special 20 progresive in the key of A and it was out of key so I sent it back. Then I tried a Harpmaster and it was hard to get any volume out so I sent it back. Then I bought 2 Crossovers. One was out of tune the other the 6 draw was hard to get anything out of, and when I did it sounds like a goose. Next I thought I would try a sydel or a lee oskar. continue reading...

Fast forward to level 3 for Chromatic harmonica?

Hello All;

I d love your grain of salt on this.

I am finishing level one, in one week I ll have ¨walk with me¨ nailed down.

Now, I am very curious about Chromatic harmonica so I was thinking in getting one and fast forward to Level 3 to get a taste of Chromatic and then go back to Diatonic in level 2.

Is it advisable to do this?

Thanks
