Wow!  last night, it finally hit me. a breakthrough. I've messed around with bending quite a bit and never quite got it.  struggled with 1 draw and 2 draw whole step bend.  and 3rd 3 draw bend.

in learning to hit clean and with good tone the 4 and 6 draw bends, I kept playing back what expert Winslow Yerxa (I beleive) said about the K-spot when I posted about the sensation of having to swallow my tonge to get the bends.

finally realized, by finding that k-spot over and over again, I was changing the shape of my tongu when I'd attempt to hump the back up for the lower bends.  in changing the shape of the outer sides of my tongue I was losing the air around my tongue that I needed to make the bends happen which was makng me work harder, lips and face straining, and having to move tongue too far back.

(having full upper denture doesn't halp with the natural feel of what tongue is doing)

if I've got the science part of this right, in the K-spot I can feel a sort of seal where the sides of my tongue contact the backs of my upper denture. when I would move down, I would roll the sides of my tongue downward and out of that K-spot shape. with that tongue shape held as it humps, I'm able top relaxe my lips and face.  although, my wife has asked more than once, "what're you doing?" when she'd catch me making my tongue training face.

now comes the part of ousting the bad habits and replacing with good.

again, I thanl all of you for your patience. it's so easy to develope bad habitser

THINK K-SPOT!

Congratuations! Glad that

Congratuations! Glad that K-spot mental model worked for you.

I used to write bending instructions for myself. I would do a bend and write down "how I got it" :) Like what letters to articulate, or what muscles to use. The instructions would work briefly. Then they woudn't :)

It does matter, I guess, as long as you get the result :))
