Today I found in my mailbox letter and barrel and bulletizer inside it.
Fast delivery.
It takes only half an hour to install bulletizer and solder Sm57 to the barrell.
Works fine and sounds good! Much better and louder than Superlux d112.
Well this forum has been a little quiet lately, but this morning I was answering an email from a customer, and realized that the questions were quite common - so I thought I would post them here as well. The customer was asking about the BlowsMeAway Ultimate Series mics - how are they different from each other, and what's "impedance" all about? Here goes:
1) what sort of modification do you do to the mic except shortening it and adding the volume knob? continue reading...

Hello stick mic players,
If you like the way your harmonica sounds playing through a Shure 545, or SM57 microphone, but not the way it feels in your hands, you may be interested in trying out these two microphones:
> AUDIX i5
> Blue en-CORE 100 (I performed with this mic when I was in Japan last month)

Greg...Recently came onto a Microphone and am looking to get an adapter with a volume control. Do you have an outlet for this connector/ thanks...Tommy Hutch
I have a new cabinet that is set up for a single 12" speaker and I am inquiring as to what my best choices are as I begin to shop for Harp Friendly speakers. What are your recommendations? Thanks Tommy Hutch
I have two crystal mics with volume controls installed by a well known harp mic builder. They work well but I've decided I prefer either playing without a volume control, or using the inline volume control I got from you. So I've rewired them to bypass the volume control. How can I remove the volume controls and seal up the hole?
Of course they don't hurt anything but they add just a bit of weight, and aesthetically I like to keep my gear as minimal as possible, without any unused parts.
This year at Hill Country you were demo'ing mics on a little gizmo that you plugged headphones in to...I think it might have even had some amp models in there. I was thinking it would be a cool thing to practice with, and that there might be a way to use it as a super-compact recording interface to use with the computer for practicing as well.
Would you mind sharing the details about it, and your thoughts on its uses (other than showing how awesome your mics are!).
Hi Greg - almost a follow up to Dave Hall's question but the way you explained it on the MBH forum (here's how I characterize the various Shure elements) is so clear I thought it would be worth repeating here for those that don't read that forum.
Although the prices may not be appropriate here, I'd also like to see a 'carry on' that goes into crystal and ceramic elements with regard to tone differentials and positives and negatives regarding crystal/ceramic. continue reading...
Hi Greg,
I have 2 CM-equipped mics, an ev605 any a JT 30. They sound quite different, and respond to cupping very differently too. I think the EV sounds like it is already cupped; there is nowhere near as much difference holding it 1 handed as there is with the JT. The ev is very strong bottom heavy sounding mic though, not as much tonal variation as the JT.
I'm wondering whether this difference is mainly down to the elements; does the type of shell significantly alter the sound? continue reading...
