Building the V Chord (“Five” Chord)

Posted Fri, 03/12/2021 - 06:43 by Moran

Hi David,

Not sure i understand why the 3rd note in the V chord

in C harmonica is F# and not F ?

Where can i find it on the harmonica ? i dont believe its the half band for hole 5

since it should not bring us new note

for example in Harmonica in Key of A it also should be D# and not D ?

Thank you,

Moran bar

Jump cable on bassman

Hi Dave,

Can I use a patch cable, the ones that connect effects pedals together,  as a jumper cable on the bassman or does it need to be an instrument cable?

My guess is that they are probably shielded like an instrument cable anyway but not sure.

Many thanks

Hi Dave, I've been working on Sonny's Bird since completing L4 using the mp3 and sheet music provided. But I've noticed there seems to be a more comprehensive lesson you show for it in the LOA starting video. I can't find it anywhere on the site, how do I access that material?

Kind regards,

Rob

Glisando to the 1 when tongue switching

Hello Dave,

Ever since I have joined bluesharmonica.com, I have been tongue switching to the 1.

Now I am at Accompaniment study 4 and there is a passage with a glisando to the 1. I find it a bit difficult to approach because now I would need to retrain myself to pucker the 1 with my tongue on "the wood".

What is the common way to approach that for people that primarily tongue switch for the 1? continue reading...

David

Help clarify 3rd postion cord progression for me.

I know that when playing in 1st postion ;

I cord = C E G Bd

VI cord = G B D F

V cord = D F# A C

2nd position;

I cord = G B D F

VI cord = C E G Bd

V cord = D F# A C

Question on 3rd postion VI and V cords

I cord = D F# A C

VI cord = ?

V cord = ?

Thank You
