Better sound on draw notes with "open nose"

Hi, I'm a total beginner. There is no search feature in the forum, so I couldn't check if this was already answered somewhere.

I noticed that on 1 draw and 2 draw I got a much better sound when also inhaling with the nose. As soon as I tried not to, the sound became dull, and easily flat. continue reading...

Hello Dave,

I have a question about the first position oppeninng that Gary plays on your interview.

Is there a place where I could find that piece?

If not, then would you by any chance have the raw recording of that oppening and would you mind sharing that?

Thanks in advance!

For LOA#8 is there a recorded submission required for hooks?

Thanks

Hi David. I have just recently subscribed to this service. I have been playing the harmonice for approx 4 years but never really with a metronome. My coordination is not great at times, which has put me off using one.

so my question(s) : any tips for adjusting to playing with the metronome? im currently on loa level 1, learning the walk with me study song. I do find it difficult to listen to both the metronome and the study song to which im playing along, simultaneously.  continue reading...

Ear Training and Chord Changes

I'm a beginner with no musical background or ability and have progressed heaps on counting through a 12 bar blues, timing, tapping my heel. But i am struggling on really working out the chords by listening to a backing track. Some I can pick up and there is one at the moment where i know what chord I'm in by counting and I still cannot differentiate between a IV chord and a V chord.  Also unless I have the backing track really loud whilst playing the harmonica, I cannot hear it.??? continue reading...

Solo Harmonica Study 2, ex. 1.8

Hi David,

I'm working on LOA 3.  In Solo Study 2 ex. 1.8, I'm struggling with measure 10.  Is there a typo on the 123 draw pulls?  It sounds off to my ear.  Is it supposed to be 123 blow pulls throughout the measure like in example 1.7?

Thanks.
