tongue block bending

Well, I've been hesitating to ask, because the answer seems as daunting to me as tongue blocking was when I finally accepted the fact I just couldn't create the sounds I wanted without it. If I want to seriously play the great music I'm hearing, I'm going to have to tongue block-bend aren't I?
I can bend and I can tongue block but when I try to combine them bad things happen (my bird screeches, the dog shakes his head like he has an ear infection and eventually leaves the room and I think . . . my brain tears in the middle. Any suggestions?

Blues Jr.

David, I've seen on various sites and forums that the best way to find a harp newbie is to see who walks in the door with the Blues Jr. in hand. It seems like most of what I read maligns this amp for harp use, but without any real specifics. In the various discussions here and on the new amp lessons, the Blues Jr. is not mentioned as a harp amp to look for.

Why is there such disdain for this box out there on the web? What is your opinion of this amp as a harp unit?

nose and tone

Hello David,
I have been working Solo Harmonica lessons. My 2-3-4 blow and draws lack your power. I have held my nose and seems I get better tone...or maybe holding my nose creates more resonance in my head and just sounds better in my ears.
I am finding that I might have established a bad habit in balancing my breath by breathing through my nose. However in watching your video in Solo I can see your nostrils flaring so you are using your nose too it seems.
Should I be avoiding using my nose as much as possible? continue reading...

Hi David,

Do you intend to be putting any videos up for playing scales? Are they beneficial
to practice? Just curious if it is something to be practicing along with all the other great stuff?

Thanks 528hemi
