I'm very glad the artist studies is a going on project (not that I can benefit of it at this stage, but is an incredible motivation to work hard to reach the level required to face those songs)
I also like the new visual format you gave to the section with the artist photo, a nice touch.
For someone like me not really in the know of blues harp is also a unique opportunity to "meet" artist otherwise unknown, particularly I was truly amazed by Gary Smith song... so much I'm acquiring all his cds continue reading...
I'm relatively new to the site and not a whiz with my Intel imac. That said, here is my problem and question.
Problem: I spend considerable time traveling in my car and would like to burn some of the jam tracks to a CD so I can practice between consulting jobs. I've tried to do this (jam tracks are downloaded into itunes) but my computer keeps giving me this message: file cannot be burned because it is not on your hard drive.
Question: Are the jam tracks configured in a way to prevent burning to a CD or not? Or am I doing something wrong at my end? continue reading...
could you gif me some tips?
I searching music books for information about a concepts of music ( mostly blues)
I want know more about the basics of solo melody and improvisation. also about how a song theme is build up. ect.
There are a lot of books on the market, but i cant find a good one. do you know some books that helped you?
The above tune is a complete instrumental, I take it you wouldn't use something like this at a jam session as you would kinda need to work it out with the band first - or could you still use it as it still fits the 12 bar pattern?
If this is covered somewhere, please just point me to it.
Working on the improvisation lessons has made me realize how little I understand about writing out music. I have the basics of time, names of the staff and notes etc. as well as the Notation notes you have provided - for reading music. I'm trying to notate the music I want to play and then tab it out underneath. If I'm using an A harp in 2nd position then obviously I'm playing in the key of E.
If I'm understanding right, I still write out the notation s if I"m in the key of C (first question)?? continue reading...
