I have been playing for about a year now and cannot figure out how to relax. After playing for 10-15 I can feel my neck getting very sore. I know this is wrong and try to relax but cannot seam to. Are there any tricks; or with more practice does it just come by itself? continue reading...

Hi David!

The Song "Moanin' At Midnight" Howlin Wolf,
it's a Modal song?
and a Hook based song like you explain in Improvising Study 7?

PS: great like Howlin play :), i like the alternating usage of 2draw and 3+ (2 2" 1 3+ 2)

thanks

Best Regards

Marko

Hi David

In Solo Harmonica Study 1 when practicing should I use a metronome? to help my timing ? It would be good to know what to set the metronome to all the study examples .

Thanks

Harmonica tilted position

Hi David.
My question is about harmonica position in the mouth.
Have I to tilt as much the harmonica using tongue blocking as using puckering?
I am founding that with tongue blocking I am better with a straighter entrance in my mouth.

Thanks in advance.

Playing two notes at once

Hi David,

I've been working on Temperature and I have a quick question. On the second measure of the 5th chorus when I draw in two notes at once (4 and 5 draw) is this done with the tongue on the harmonica or in a pucker? I know it can be done either way but which do you prefer us to do? Also, when doing the shake should our tongue be on the harp as well?

Thank you and happy 4th.

Playing octaves while cupping a bullet mic?

Posted Fri, 07/01/2011 - 22:39 by melodiousthunk

I have a question! I can play octaves just fine when playing acoustic, but when I cup a mic and play an octave it sounds out of tune? I've tried playing softer, but it still sounds out of tune? Have you ever had this happen or is it just me?

Thanks,
-Ryan
