Dave, you told me that a chromatic tuner would help me see how far my bends are going. This may sound like a weird question, what if I play a diatonic harp? Is that the same difference? Thank you Dan

Answer

A valid question. The naming of the tuner and the harmonica have nothing to do with each other. A chromatic tuner is a tuner that can register all pitches (that's also why they call the chromatic harmonica a "chromatic" instrument.... it too can achieve all pitches). So, when you go to your local music store or online store ask for a "chromatic" tuner. Watch the HarpSmith videos on tuning... he recommends some tuners.
