Big Walter Horton

Hi David

I would like to pick up a few Big Walter Horton albums. Could you recommend some must haves?

I havnt come across an 'essential' collection like you see from some artists. It looks like he has recorded with lots of people and variants so I am not sure where to start.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi David, for some reason I'm running out of air right at the end of that first 8th note run in the first bar of chorus 3, I thought my nose might be open, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

low draw notes

I am thoroughly enjoying the blues harmonica lessons so far, though I am relatively new.  I am having problems with the low draw notes on any of my three Hohner harps (C, A, D).  I can get soft draw notes on holes one or two only if puckering, but not with tongue block.  Any suggestions?

Hi David,

Besides - 'The History of the Blues Harmonica Concert' and ' It Takes Three '  (I have already pruchased both)...

do you have any other harmonica  albums ?  If so, would you consider releasing them on Amazon to allow for purchase via

downloading the album ?  (would love to see a 'History of the Blues Harmonica - Part 2' )

Thanks for the great work you do ! continue reading...

hi David,

is the tip of tongue inside lower lip (between lip and teeth) at all times?

is that a question for 'shakes, slaps and pulls etc' for later in my video lessons?

LOA-10 Songwriting

Hi, Dave:

When your students write their first instrumental in 2nd position, you require them to use all of the chorus forms. When submitting original songs for LOA-10, do you require students to use all chorus forms in each instrumental, or should we just use whatever chorus forms sound best for the song? I ask just to make sure... I'm pretty sure you want whatever sounds best for the song.

Also, for the 3rd position instrumental, does it need to be on a diatonic harmonica or could it be on chromatic harmonica?

Thanks,

Marc

Fills

Hi David,

What makes a good fill. I try and mix and match different licks from the study songs, or try and create something out of my head when I'm practicing the chorus forms, but they still don't sound very good or interesting.

Many thanks,

Paul
