chromatic improvising

Hello David,  I was just playing around the chromatic song "No Sweat".  I was using the provided licks to improvise using the chorus forms.   I was playing ex 5.1   2.....2+1....  So i played going into the first beat of the next bar.  So i played it a total of 6 time of the 12 bars.  I was getting it down so I was always keeping time and ending correctly.   I was then thinking how that would be played on a diatonic.  So I grabbed my G harp and played 5.....5+4...  I was just wonding if that was correct? for the diatonic?
