Is anybody out there familiar with Notation in the Hal Leonard Harmonica Play along Series. I am looking at "Help me" in Vol 9. Right at the end of music on p24 there is a ghost note indicated. It appears that to be consistent with their notation this would a 1.5 note draw bend on the 5th hole. As this isn't possible can any body suggest what this is meant to indicate. I don't think it is a misprint as I have seen similar notation on at least one other occasion in their other books.
I had $10,000 worth of stuff stolen at the Airport in Medellin, Colombia. Everything harmonica related I own: complete sets of Crossover, Thunderbirds, Super 64x, 270 DX, pedals (Boss, Kinder, Xotic), mics from Dennis Gruenling, and more. Plus 10+ years of mp3s on my computer and external hard drive stolen. If you see some JT-30s and a slew of bamboo Hohners in a pawn shop in Medellin, please let me know. I'd do anything to get back Dennis Gruenling's personal chrome crystal JT30 with red grill given to me. continue reading...
A course is currently available on Coursera on Music Theory run by the University of Edinburgh. It has a good explanation of modal playing and will be a good supplement to the music theory section of Blues harmonica.
Eminem-Purple Pills , At the end of the song 4;07 there's a nifty harmonica solo and i can find the tabs NoWhere..i'm pretty disapointed , so i want to know if you could give it a look or anybody who wants to do it , i think its a challenge regardless nobody have done it since then.
People are always pointing cameras and phones and whatever at me. I just smile and play on, and hope that they tip. Most do. But, I rarely see any photos or footage.
A couple of months back, someone recorded me, and used my performance as a soundtrack for this video. I had no idea about this video until a ticket machine technician played it for me on his iPhone the other day. He spotted it on a forum somewhere. continue reading...
Hi, i just wanted to ask if anybody knows the musical notes or the numbers for the harmonica intro and solos of the song "Southbound Train" by Crosby and Nash. I looked for it everywhere but I couldn't find it, I'd be very grateful. Thanks
Hey Everyone; I'm new to the forum, though I've been playing harmonica since 1998, and I've only had one true lesson, with Joe Filisko at Olde Towne in Chicago!! Besides that, I had spent some time (a lot actually) backstage with BT, and John himself used to talk to me about things I should practice ("Triplets" was his first One Word Lesson), but other than that, I just get on stage when a local band allows, and to my blues records (mp3's nowadays). continue reading...
