I am relatively new at this, and an old guy so please treat me gently. I have searched Google and youtube but cannot find the overall package of how do I get backing tracks on a cell phone, run the backing track via the cell phone into the Aux input on my Fender Champ 20? Is this easy or am I missing something? Obviously, I am looking for free backing tracks (if there are any?) and how to run them through the Amplifier.
Any help for this old guy would be deeply appreciated.
just finished "Ear Training Study 1 - Figuring out the Key of a Song" (second time) and I think the methods presented are great ! But now, when trying to get better and faster at this, I sure need to train more, i.e. with more songs.
For this, any blues-harmonica playlist on spotify is just the right material. But after working out the key of a song by myself, I want to check, if my result is correct or not. This can be easily done with a web-service at play.soundplate.com (and probably there are others too). continue reading...
What hearing protection do you all use, if any, on stage and equally important at home with a small amp?
I wear hearing protection with my work, but when I wear musician earplugs when I play amplified harmonica at home with my windy city 10 it is difficult to hear in enough detail and so usually take them out, but I am going to kill what's left of my hearing if I continue this way.
Recommendations for something that takes the harshness away but still allows you to hear quite clearly would be great please?
I always found this version of Custard Pie to be the definitive version. I wanna learn how to play it, but I can't find any tabs on it. Does anyone have them?
Hi just joined. I used to play clarinet and sax and was a music teacher.
I'm doing Tongue Block Study 1 Walk With Me and I'm confused. The instructions at the top say Key of E but the sheet music is in Key of C. Yes I know that each harmonica has the same patterns for scales but why not use the correct key For the notes?
im going to have to use the Tabs instead of notes because it's messing with my musical sensibilities. Lol. :-)
I've just learned that there's a thing called double stops similar to playing the split octaves? I want to delve into that now remembering an early exercise in playing octaves but I can't recall which level that exercise was in.
my question: when to play octaves verses the thing called double stops which to my understanding would be playing two more disonnant notes at a time?
the when to use which or does it matter? which to practice for greatest effect?
Has anyone out there figured out how to play something acceptable for San Francisco Bay Blues. I could use some ideas. I am playing it, (well, sort of), in 2nd position and there are a couple of places where nothing is available, to my ear. Help ifn ya can.
Hi guys really struggling to blow clear notes with tounge blocking, I know I have only been at it for 4 days, am I being to impatient and how long does it take before I can blow a clear note ?
