changing tempo of jam track in garage band

I am unable to play the study song Temperature up to speed. Is there a way to reduce the playback tempo in Garage Band so that I can record at the lowered tempo? I know that I can change the tempo in Audacity to whatever I want, but I would like to do that in Garage Band if it is possible.

Thanks, Hank

Tongue block all the time?

Hello David,

I just started your LOA. I used to play a little bit of harmonica but I really wanted to learn tongue blocking so I can learn Quiet World some time.
My question is, should I play with tongue blocking all the time? I'm still in level 1. I'm asking this because I'm thinking of trying to play the songs that I already know with tong blocking but I don't know if this will help.

Thanks,

Vitor.

Hi David!

I was wondering if it would be possible to start the beginner lessons with a C harmonica, though you said that an A one is needed.

Best,

Somayyeh

mp3 question re: ASD

Great program. All I need to do is erase 40 years of playing in bar bands, holding a harp in my right hand, and not even heard of tongue blocking, but I digress.

I am using an  iPhone 11 with 14.8 software.

I use the ASD app on a regular basis, importing songs from Apple Music Library.

Question is, How do I import an MP3 so that I can slow it down?

All the very best,

Larry

PS I do not use a computer, just a phone. So far, it has been enough

counting rhythms in shuffle grooves

Hi David,

Apologies for coming back to you so quickly after my last question, but I have a question the answer to which I've never seen or heard in years of reading shuffle-rhythm standard notation transcripts (which, aside from yours, have been for, variously, guitar, bass and keyboards). I've not seen this addressed by even great jazz educators such as Jerry Coker and Jamey Aebersold, but I might just have missed where they addressed it. continue reading...
