If you can get a hold of it you have got to check out the album Arkansas Trap by George Smith. The album is a great example of urban blues with some really contemporary themes (for its time). There is some great harp playing on the record as you might guess. My favourite tracks are "Situation Blues" and "Monkey on a Limb". Unfortunatley i don't think the album is in circulation at present so you may have to hunt around for a copy. I got mine in the UK on vinyl on fleabay. Happy hunting.
Sitting here working on stuff and listening to Mark Hummel's new CD "Unplugged". Really great acoustic harp played by a master. Took me a while to get it but it was worth the wait. Highly recommended!

This is bluesharmonica.com, not just countrybluesharmonica.com, westcoastbluesharmonica.com or chicagobluesharmonica.com so I thought I'd throw some bands with harmonica I like to listen to in the "Punk Blues" category since a few people have asked about it in the forums. Naturally, some are better than others. Some of these are more rock than punk and visa versa. Let me know if you can think of any others to add to the list:
The Legendary Shack Shakers (one of my favorite)
Jason Ricci
Tenderloin (another favorite)
South Filthy
Nervous Turkey
