I heard a song a while back by Mozzella Moore, "I'm Goin' To Pack Up My Things" on "Music Down Home: An Introduction" on Pandora Radio. It was just the man and his harp, no guitar or other instruments. Kinda nice. I wrote down the info thinking I would find it later and down load it off of Itunes or Amazon but I cannot find it listed anywhere! Does anyone have any knowledge of the artist, the album or the song?
I am looking for some cool, fun songs to do by myself, just solo, harp and lyrics, as a fill during a band break. Any suggestions of favorites would be very welcome. continue reading...
"Blues With a Feeling - A Tribute to Little Walter" CD by George Smith
A Must Have
$5.99 for the album on iTunes at the time of this post, Great price!
I don't know why I haven't mentioned this CD before. Jimmy Rogers "Ludella". Give it a listen. You'll here one of the greats on harmonica and the band is awesome, not to mention Jimmy Rogers.

For those that missed it, here's the PBS link to the "Red, White and Blues" show at the White House that aired in February. Not a lot of harp unfortunately, in fact some will say none despite Mick Jagger's attempts. But there is some good music.
Just listening - after downloading - to a harp player I've not been aware of. MIke Stevens plays some very tasty stuff but the pairing with Matt Andersen (Canadian of reputation) on their duo CD "Piggyback" is a knockout to my tastes. Just thought I'd pass it on as something worth listening to and not mainstream. Hope it doesn't offend any Blues purists but man, I like this.
Love it when I come across a relative unknown (for me) that I really enjoy. If you like harp towards a Piedmont style, check out Darcy Perry and Craig Bracken's album "Too Many Miles". Acoustic harp and guitar in a straight forward style.
Here's an Imported Papa Lightfoot Album that's available thru Amazon (5 left in stock at the time of this post)
