About a third of the way into Mark Hummel's book "Big Road Blues". ALthough I've read several books on Blues and Blues musicians, because of my knowing and having had contact with Mark, I'm finding this fascinating. Man, has he ever been "around the block several times"!! Its an easy read and quite the insight into many blues musicians and especially Mark. I'm committed to one chapter a day, but finding it difficult to stop reading. I'm anxious to get further into it.
Got it through Amazon. Highly recommended reading.
Hey harpies, I'm Colin and I'm new here... I'm working on walk with me but seem to have found this movement exercise, patterns laying around.... I'm sure I downloaded when I started but I wasn't sure whether this came first or the song should. it seems rather relevant... The skills all involved I just don't quite know if I should be able to do this all.... It starts out what seemed plain enough but I think that there's bending and stuff.... So what id like to know is is this really right for me to be playing just from sight..... I'm not sure yet about eighths and quarter staff notes... continue reading...
I just subscribed to BH.com last night (about time with all the cool content and players here!).
I look forward to working through the vids, the wealth of information, and getting to know some new folks on the forum.

First of all Ill say that David Waldman of all of them alive today still in my books my favorite harmonica player and someone I consider to be a good friend , ... and truly a master like any of the old pre and post war players continue reading...

Great rehearsal Ryan - I thought you did really well and wish you well for the concert - knowing you'll do great!! Great tone out of that rig and solid confident articulation!! Looked and sounded like a pro.
Those SJ Sharks should bring you out for in between period entertainment!!
Greg knows how much I appreciate his expertise and skill and I know that many in the harmonica world feel the same!! Tough situation but I know you will be a great addition to the experts to whom we have access. David- you've done it again!! Thanks
Welcome Greg - I'm loving my "woodies", especially the black label element!!! I'm looking forward to learning more from you!
Watching videos on youtube, I often see players such as Junior Wells, SB2, among others, put their finger briefly in the their ear while playing. Maybe it's just tugging the earlobe. I don't know. I was wondering if you knew anything about this.
