Going to take a first time visit to Hawaii (week in Kona and then a week on Kauai) during February. Anyone here live there or know of any blues places there. I'm looking forward to Slack Key guitar music but thought I'd check just in case. Thanks

Instructor in Northeast Philadelphia?

Is there anyone here who is interested in giving lessons to a small group of boys in Northeast Philadelphia?  They don't need perfection or tons of instruction, just someone to personally help them get started and inspire them, then possibly direct them here for more.

If so, please contact me.

Thanks!!

Pull

Solo Harmonica Study 2, Example 1.5. on the IV bar with the Pull Notation. It is understanding that on the 4th eight note, (+5), I would completely tongue block all holes, continue to blow, pull the tongue off on the next eigth,(+5)? If correct I'm not hearing the pull as I do when listening to Dave's example.

Also while I'm asking; on Example 1.5 Dave's chording has this great "click" sound that I can't replicate? Thanks in advance.

First formal jam session, sanity check

I just did my first formal jam session last night with a full band. I was able to sit in and play for at least an hour or so. While I am familiar with the mechanics (12 bar blues progression, chorus forms, root chords) of jam improvisation I am more used to playing rehearshed and practiced pieces. My improvisation work has mainly been with jam tracks and a little with my guitar guy (he actually showed up little later and we were able to play together on stage). My playing was a bit of a mixed bag. About half of the songs I got a good groove going and the other half I passably muddled through. continue reading...

Cleaning Combs

Just wondered if anyone knows if it is OK to clean the comb from a Hohner Crossover in an ultrasonic cleaner?  I know that wood should not be put in the ultrasonic but was not sure about the Crossover comb.

Thanks for any advice from a newcomer.

Interesting.....

Sheet music

I'm new to the harmonica, and the website. I'm taking the free C Intro Lessons.  I know I saw printed "sheet music" showing the notes to blow to play a song when I first logged in, but I can't find them again. Could someone please direct me? Thanks.

Oh, and I don't know how to use the Forum either, so could you please email me at betty@pawsreflect.com? Thanks again.
