TB 1: Section 5. I can't seem to find the PDF's that go with this.? I've got TB Study 2 Exercises as well as the study song, however when Dave is referring to the licks to be played I'm lost. Could someone point out my error(s). TIA!
Hi...I play slide guitar in my duo on this Rolling Stones cover called Prodigal Son. Its seems like a good harp song. But I'm having trouble capturing a decent chugging pattern within the verses. Its in E (A Harp). If anyone would want to give it a try and report back to me with your ideas, that would be awesome. Even if you come up with something completely different, I'm willing to listen. Here's the song and thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8NfWcqIdEE
To get worse with practice. :) Been doing Blues Harmonica's lessons for 5 weeks, Seems I progressed well, "Walk With Me", chours 1 & 2 memorized and playing with the jam track. Still mistakes but although I feel I"m progressing I also feel I hit the proverbal wall. I'm also doing the lesson 1 "Movements", and probably putting in at least 90 minutes daily.
So, is this type of progress "normal?" (Actually I'd just like a bit of encouragement;)
What are the things that a 'beginner' 'intermediate' or 'advanced' player should know,as to be able to display their ability?
This is different from Levels Of Achievement. With the L.O.A., to me, has more to do with your ability and technique..what i mean to ask is what should be memorized by those who consider themselves 'beginner' 'intermediate' or 'advanced' players?
for example:
A beginner player should be able to:
get clean blow/draw notes on the middle octave
have 5 first position middle octave tunes memorized (stephen foster, etc)
know 1 chugging rhythm, etc.. continue reading...
I started playing music learning on the recorder and the clarinet. From there I progressed to the saxophone and played it for many years. I have also tried playing other woodwind instruments. From my experience playing playing in orchestras, bands, and playing with friends I have seen how other instruments are played. My son plays violin and have experienced his learning process. When I compare all of this to my experience learning the harmonica I found the harmonica to be the hardest instrument to learn how to play well. Note you are blind and have to rely on muscle memory to find the holes. continue reading...
