Hi
As a very new player just starting to learn 'Walk with me' I got myself the metronome wittner mt60 that David reviews on this site.I find it a great help, before I just played the notes and it sounded ok to me until I recorded it (ouch) ,now playing in time with the metronome it sounds so much more like music,so thanks David for that .

RIP Ronnie James Dio

Not blues, but a loss for the music world none-the-less. My wife's brother died of stomach cancer. It's awful and something no one should have to suffer through. RIP Ronnie.

Vote for Skip Simmons

Amp wizard Skip Simmons is in a local Best Musical Business contest. If Skip isn't one of the best amp guru's on the planet, a Cadillac "ain't" a car. Looks like there's about 4 days left to vote.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to learn Stormy Weather by Jerry Portnoy (album - Down in the Mood room) by ear and the intro is confusing me big time.
I'm playing with a Bb harp, seems to be the key for lots of melodys in the song, but i am not 100% sure if i am going in the right direction.

anyone knows this song? or has tried to play it?

Thx in advance
David

Tip - good prices on Seydel 1847's

Here's an unofficial tip. My local Guitar Center store is selling the Seydel 1847 Classic for $69.99, which is $20.00 off of what you can get them for elsewhere. They have limited keys available. Apparently, they are clearing them out as Guitar Center is not offering them any more after their stock is gone (I think Seydel is pulling all of their purchasing back to the authorized distributor out of the Carolinas). continue reading...

shows or jams May 12 - 20 ??

Taking week and a half before the Masterclass week end and exploring from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara. If any of you know of any blues events, shows or jams in that area during that time, I'd really appreciate hearing about them. This is our first time down that way so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. Thanks!

submitting recordings

i have mucked around with "walk with me" till i thought it was fairly good. recorded using garageband like david suggested. i tried to submit several times and kept getting error messages asking for different format. i figured that out (i was making mistakes on my end.) finally sent a file in the correct format, i think.
here's the question. when you submit a recording, do you receive any confirmation that it got sent or was received? or do you just wait about a week for david's feedback?

Bret Michaels

I know this has nothing to do with blues - or harp, but I wanted to throw out a prayer for Bret Michaels, who suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and is now in critical condition. I've met Bret several times, and the band I was in opened for Poison several times in the late '80s. I remember one night when Bret and I - along with two bouncers - pulled C.C. DeVille and one of my bandmates apart in a fight over a girl. Bret punched me in the head by accident, and thought my black eye was the funniest thing in the world. continue reading...
