Here's an unofficial tip. My local Guitar Center store is selling the Seydel 1847 Classic for $69.99, which is $20.00 off of what you can get them for elsewhere. They have limited keys available. Apparently, they are clearing them out as Guitar Center is not offering them any more after their stock is gone (I think Seydel is pulling all of their purchasing back to the authorized distributor out of the Carolinas). continue reading...

Taking week and a half before the Masterclass week end and exploring from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara. If any of you know of any blues events, shows or jams in that area during that time, I'd really appreciate hearing about them. This is our first time down that way so I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. Thanks!
i have mucked around with "walk with me" till i thought it was fairly good. recorded using garageband like david suggested. i tried to submit several times and kept getting error messages asking for different format. i figured that out (i was making mistakes on my end.) finally sent a file in the correct format, i think.
here's the question. when you submit a recording, do you receive any confirmation that it got sent or was received? or do you just wait about a week for david's feedback?
I know this has nothing to do with blues - or harp, but I wanted to throw out a prayer for Bret Michaels, who suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and is now in critical condition. I've met Bret several times, and the band I was in opened for Poison several times in the late '80s. I remember one night when Bret and I - along with two bouncers - pulled C.C. DeVille and one of my bandmates apart in a fight over a girl. Bret punched me in the head by accident, and thought my black eye was the funniest thing in the world. continue reading...
I posted part of this in my Special 20 thread, but I thought I'd put them separately in a thread of their own in case any one out there wants to know what a total newbie thinks of his harps. You silverbacks out there probably don't care what the kid thinks, but here it is...
Working my way through these - absolutely fascinating stuff David!!! As difficult to stop watching as it is to put down a Dan Brown book. Thank you - what a n interesting and knowledgeable man!!! Any chance he will be at Masterclass like he has been in the past?
I don't know if this post is in the right spot, if it already exists yadda yadda. But I must say that the interview with Jason Ricci just blew me away. It moved me so much I can't stop smiling. That guy is the coolest harp player out there. How many pros do you know would ask you up on stage during their gig and hand you their harp and say go for it? How many pros would ask the audience if a harp player would like to come up and play during the break? (happened to me) He is out there I must say but I get a kick out of his playing and personality. continue reading...
