Walk With Me chorus 5 and 6.

I am finding the double notes on the start of the 5th chorus work ok if I hear the 3 draw of the song and dirty it with a 'grin' to add the 4 hole etc.  But on the 6th chorus I am wondering if that is the same technique? Is it a dirty 3 or should I be doing a 4 holes mouth position and tongue blocking off 1 and 2 cleanly? (I am finding it difficult to do.) continue reading...

Throat tremelo, 1st bar of Feelin for the Blues

Posted Thu, 04/10/2014 - 01:19 by brittleonard

Good morning David.  On the first bar of Feelin with the Blues, should my tremelo be "non-stop"?  Or after my dip, do I stop the tremelo?

Same question applies in other places like Chorus 1, 6th bar.  Do I continue the tremelo all the way through the bar or stop before the bend.  Difficult to do the bend and tremelo at the same time.  But if that's what I'm supposed to be working on, I'd like to know so I can.  Thanks

chromatic study 1

Hallo David.

First approach to the chromatic harmonica, I have a couple of issues:

1) I can slap the notes but 2nd hole draw make a sort of muted sounds if I try to slap it. Also, in order to get a good tone on that draw hole i need to keep my throat very opened, much more of what I do normally with other holes. continue reading...

Two Hole/Note Bending-The Strut

Posted Mon, 04/07/2014 - 21:00 by Bill Melious

Hi David.  I've been at a standstill for a week now on the 1st chorus. Particularly on the 4/5 bend at the beginning.  I've found I'm making small progress blocking the 2 and 3 but is that proper?  I want to nip in the bud any bad habits.  I can bend these notes individually with litttle difficulty but combining them only gives me small results when blocking the 2 and 3 (the progress I'm looking for).  Should I be doing it this way or block 1, 2 and 3 for an easier transition to the 3/4 dip?

Chorus forms

Hi david!

I'm going through chorus forms study for improvising in level 4.

I was wondering about ABA chorus form. In your lesson it doesn't appear but I suppose I can play a lick, then go away with a B lick and playing again licks A in place of the tournaround. What do you think about that ?

Thanks.
