am I right ?

the same error is in exam material, cell 10 in descending row is mentioned C ,

I was interested to read in the "Custom Harps Summation" tip that your favourite OOTB harp is the Hohner Marine Band Deluxe. Do you now prefer the Deluxe over the Crossover?

Improvisation

Hi David,

Probably a daft question, but here goes ;

If I write down an instrumental first and read it while I'm playing to a jam track I can do this without too much of a problem.

However, if I play to a jam track without any script to read from, I have difficulty in doing so. For example, if I improvise the head in chorus 1, for some reason by the time I reach the last chorus I forgotten what I thought of. Secondly, as I go through the chorus forms using the idea of focus notes, I loose track of where I am in the jam track. continue reading...

Amp Size

Hi David,

Is it possible to get away with having just one amp that covers home studio practice and recording as well as medium to large venues? The WEZO ME-18  2x10" combo has a pad control pull for half power but does that give you that much range of use?

I'm just trying to make the best decisions so I don't look back with regret after spending so much. Do you think having just a single 10" for home and a larger setup for playing with a band is best?

Thanks,

Hugh

Timing

I don't have a band to play with. All I can do is play with jam tracks or a metronome. What is the best way to work on making sure I am playing in time with a band especially on 1/8 notes or faster. I have a hard time telling when I am playing in time especially since no one is here to tell me I am not. Thanks for your help.

Tips for moving from pucker to tongue block?

Posted Wed, 07/01/2015 - 18:01 by sgnl2nz

i have been fiddling with the harmonica on and off for 30 years. During that time I have developed some terrible technique. I have been a pucker player this whole time. I just joined the site this past week and I am learning so much! What tips do you have on breaking my pucker habit and developing a good tongue block? I am really struggling with tongue blocking, but I really want to do this right. Any extra tips?

How can these scales contain E# and B# notes that dont exist on the chromatic scale? Am I just way behind the curve or what?

Thanks! Biscuit Boy in Petaluma
