Someone told me that Hohner was bought out 5 or 6 years ago by a Thai company, and they were no longer a German company. I have my doubts, but have you heard anything like that? I know that those certified in the Hohner Affiliated Customizer program are required to get their parts directly from Germany, so I'm thinking it's just a rumor.

Hi David - i have been using the site for 3 years now and was wondering that by now if i should be able to play some reasonably sounding blues along with my buddies who play guitar .. If i play stuff ver batum which i have learned on the site (in the accompanyment and solo lessons)that i can play with them and sound pretty good but if i try to improvise - well i feel like i shoild maybe take up golf or something - i put in hours of practice just about every day and am feeling a bit frustrated with my improvskills - or am i expecting to achieve this prematurely -- thanks Frank
First, big congrats on this site. I've been looking at different sites since I picked up the harmonica in April of this year and this is, IMHO, the best and most complete. I'm now 1/2 through the free trial offered through Hohner and definitely plan to subscribe. continue reading...
I’ve been a member here for over 8 years, and have played in bands for a lot of that time.
For the last 2 years I’ve played in a Chicago-style quartet, where I’ve shared the front-man role, leading about 50% of the songs, and accompanying the rest.
This is a weekend warrior type of band, with weekly rehearsals and 15-20 gigs per year.
For the material I lead I have usually found a recording to copy, or have put together something from various sources (including my own inspiration). It’s a similar story with the accompaniment.
When we submit study songs do they have to be 100% perfect for you to listen to them or can we submit a song when we think we have the hang of it and await your feedback for where we are going wrong

I see in LOA level 3 we'll be exploring blues chromatic basics, and I have been looking at the CX-12 and the 270 Deluxe which are both nearly the same in price at RR's. Would one be preferable as a first chromatic?
